Stephen Mitchell's Daily Mantra

I created this mantra to help handle the anxiety and depression after the 2019-2020 Kangaroo Island fires.

That whole fortnight was both soul-destroying and gut-wrenching. It wasn't just trees and paddocks going up in smoke: It was our sense of safety - all gone in what felt like moments. For almost a year I struggled finding inner peace. Interacting with people became exhausting. It was like a cloud hung over everything, draining my enthusiasm.

BE HAPPY

Happiness is embracing the little joys, appreciating what I have, and staying positive. Choosing happiness helps me approach life with peace and contentment.


LIVE SMART

This means making choices that benefit my well-being, balancing my time & energy & resources - whilst still staying adaptable. I focus on growing from experience and maintaining a thoughtful approach to my life's challenges.


STAY STRONG

Staying strong means being resilient mentally, emotionally, and physically. Having strength helps me face life's difficulties, stand firm in my values, and be confident when approaching obstacles.
